Are my files uploaded to a server when creating a ZIP?
No. Files are compressed inside your browser on your own device. Nothing is ever uploaded to Aback servers.
Is the folder structure preserved?
Yes. When you select folders, their relative paths are preserved inside the archive so extraction restores the original layout.
Which compression level should I choose?
Store is fastest and does not compress data (good for media files). Maximum produces the smallest archives but takes longer. Balanced is a good default.
Will the archive open in Windows, macOS, or 7-Zip?
Yes. Archives use the standard ZIP format with UTF-8 filenames, so they open in every major archive application.
Can I include empty folders?
Yes. Empty folders selected through the folder picker are preserved as directory entries in the archive.
